After leading the marketing department of a top 250 internet retail company, he founded Effective Spend in 2008, intent on bringing cutting edge digital marketing management to a range of businesses and industries. Brian currently drives the operational strategy for the business and regularly gets his hands dirty by leading specific account management initiatives that allow for unrivaled client success and an ability to adapt the business to the fast-paced, ever-changing digital environment. Brian brings expertise in all things online marketing and is regularly sought out to give insight into search and social strategy.

Natalia joined Effective Spend in 2011 and has been instrumental in the rapid growth of the company. She brings more than 15 years of marketing expertise, with both agency and in-house client experience. After 6 years of leading an expert PPC advertising team, Natalia currently runs internal marketing and people operations. A proud Austin native, Natalia holds an advertising degree from UT with a concentration in media planning. She enjoys sharing the wonders of her weird city with her two young daughters.

7 years ago, Alex joined Effective Spend as the first-ever hire. After spending 2 years learning the ins and outs of Paid Search, he took a hiatus to start and run his own eCommerce business, FringeSport. 4 Years, $10M in revenue, 25,000+ happy customers and 30 team members later, he successfully sold FringeSport. Alex returned to Effective Spend to develop all areas of our business and to help our partners achieve the best possible results by marrying Paid Search into a holistic business strategy.
In the late 90’s I beat Kyle Stoldt to win the professional laser tag national championship.
As Chief Barketing Officer, Maddie’s main responsibilities are announcing visitors and entertaining at company happy hours. She is highly skilled at catching frisbees in mid-air and being a good, good dog. Outside of work, Maddie enjoys jogging, swimming in the lake and hanging out with her family.

With more than 7 years experience in online marketing, Kyle currently manages Effective Spend’s pure play eCommerce clients. Kyle studied business marketing at Sonoma State University, and then gained experience in international commerce while living in Shanghai for several years. In his spare time, Kyle enjoys traveling, golfing and palling around with his pup, Roscoe.

Heather joined Effective Spend as employee #3, and the majority of her professional career has been focused in PPC marketing. As a true PPC guru, she has worked with clients in various industries including education, ecommerce, tech, and SaaS solutions. She currently leads Effective Spend’s social advertising and lead generation accounts.
I’ve been skateboarding since I was 10 years old.
Paula has been with Effective Spend since 2012 and has an extensive background in the digital media buying and planning space. She is regularly brought in to consult potential clients on strategic account implementations to improve their bottom line. Paula’s team manages a wide range of traditional SEM accounts, as well as social and programmatic display marketing clients. She is a native Texan, and University of Texas alum.

Larissa joined Effective Spend with 10 years of digital marketing experience, concentrating on the ever-changing discipline of Search Engine Optimization. Larissa guides the strategic vision for SEO and Digital PR at Effective Spend and ensures our clients are always ahead of the curve. Her research background and Master's in Journalism from UT Austin come in handy in her data-driven approach to making online marketing decisions. In her spare time, Larissa is known to bake up a storm or throw down for board game night.

Nena grew up in Indonesia, and came to Texas as a high school exchange student. After a great exchange year, she decided to stay and continue her education in the United States. She graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a Master in Professional Accounting. Her role on the business development team involves developing innovative analytic reports designed to offer clients a comprehensive view at account performance.
I took 8 years of piano lessons, 1 year of classical guitar lesson, and 1 year of bass guitar lesson, but can barely play any of the instruments now.
Carter is a Texas native and the second half of our dynamic data-duo, where he helps analyze and translate technical data into comprehensive, useful language. He has an extensive background in ETL design, data warehousing, and visualization; obtaining his B.A. in economics and his M.S. in Business Analytics from Southern Methodist University.

Kate started at the company as a PPC Account Manager in 2015, and her role has evolved since then to now encompass accounting, recruiting, office management, and HR. Kate graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in anthropology. She is a recent empty nester as her daughter has gone off to college. She and her husband live in the small but growing town of Buda, just south of Austin. Their subdivision neighbors a miniature horse farm which, even after years of living there, still makes Kate smile when she drives past after a long commute from the city.
Kate is a huge book nerd with a particular interest in science fiction. She is also a Trekkie with a lifelong crush on Captain Picard.
Brittany is a Houston native who came to Austin to study advertising at the University of Texas. Her professional background includes work in online lead generation and eCommerce for a variety of business verticals. In her spare time, she enjoys listening to crime podcasts and drinking beers on the patio.
I restore old furniture and make it cute again.
Maya is a graduate of Boston’s Wellesley College. Two years ago, she traded Boston’s cold winters for Austin’s hot summers, and we’re glad that she did (so is she). Maya’s professional portfolio includes managing paid media and marketing strategies for fortune 500 lead generation accounts. Currently, she is working on adding to her library of filled passports, having already traveled to fifteen countries.

Karl came to us here at Effective Spend from Dublin Ireland, where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Innovation and Technology and a Master’s Degree in Marketing from Dublin City University. Having taught marketing at the college level, and with experience working in a Multinational corporation and with a number of smaller organizations, Karl brings a strong marketing background coupled with the digital and analytical skills to help our clients thrive in the PPC arena.
Trained in Tae Kwon Do for 13 years and has a 3rd Degree Black Belt.
Zak is a native of Wisconsin and graduate of Texas Tech University; where he earned degrees in Business Management and Marketing. He began his career in digital marketing in 2015 working for Facebook. He joined the Effective Spend team in 2016, where he works in our PPC department helping clients efficiently scale paid search campaigns and grow their businesses.
I am the office foosball champion.
Jared is a Texas native, graduate of Brigham Young University (where he received a B.A. in marketing), and both literal and figurative rock star. His well-rounded professional portfolio includes product management, pricing and data analysis, but his true passion lies in digital marketing. Jared is also our resident expert on Amazon marketing and hosts our YouTube channel, Effective on Amazon. In his down time he enjoys soccer, music composition, song writing and eating spicy food.
I played in a rock band and our music was used on a commercial during the World Series.
Tara is a Seattle native and graduate of Tulane University in New Orleans. She comes to Effective Spend with a background in paid search advertising. Tara currently contributes to the management of paid search and social campaigns for various eCommerce clients.

Denny grew up in New Zealand before returning to Texas to pursue his Marketing Degree at Texas State University. He came to Effective Spend having previously specialized in international motorsports and automotive marketing. Denny currently manages ecommerce and lead generation for click & mortar, SaaS, and pure play ecommerce clients.
I used to race cars and now do driver coaching to teach people how to drive fast on a track.
Courtney is a graduate of the University of North Texas where she received a B.S. in Digital Retailing with a minor in Marketing. She now contributes to the management of eCommerce paid search campaigns and content marketing. In her downtime, Courtney enjoys exploring the Austin area's popular nature spots.

Casey Lizaso moved to Austin from San Antonio, where she was born and raised. She studied marketing and business administration at The University of Texas at San Antonio and proceeded to take on a digital marketing apprenticeship, learning new ways to delight clients and consumers alike through the various digital marketing channels. Fascinated by digital consumer behavior, taking on PPC in a fast-growing city like Austin was a natural fit.

Katie earned a degree in Electronic Media with a minor in Marketing. She lived in five states and two countries all before landing in Texas after college. She entered her career in paid search in 2016 before joining the Effective Spend team in 2018, where she contributes to the management of paid search and social campaigns for various clients.

Carly Frederick is first and foremost a storyteller. Her career began as a journalist in Chicago, covering local business and lifestyle-related news. She shifted her focus to content marketing in 2015, while continuously drawing from her journalism background. Carly attended the University of Missouri, where she studied Creative Writing and Textile and Apparel Management, and is happy to be back in her home state of Texas. She joined the Effective Spend team in 2017, creating/editing content and optimizing web pages for clients.
My husband and I are training for the MS 150, a bike ride from Houston to Austin.
Aurora joined Effective Spend with three and a half years of SEO experience under her belt. She was born in the Philippines and moved to the US when she was ten years old. She graduated from The University of Texas with a Communication Studies degree. When not effectively optimizing websites, she likes to spend time telling herself she should not buy more makeup... and then buying more makeup anyway.

Danielle Marchell is a California native and Baylor University graduate who is passionate about media relations. She is responsible for ideating and executing strategic, data-driven communications efforts for agency clients. Before joining the Effective Spend team in April 2018, she worked primarily in corporate communications for various sports, entertainment and retail entities.
Chip and Joanna Gaines were my landlords in college.
Margaret is a graduate of Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX, where she received a B.A. in Markets & Culture and a minor in Advertising. Her concentration of study in the data analytics of globalization has greatly added to her passion for digital advertising and its impact on consumer culture. A native of the Washington, D.C. area, Margaret has traded in Capitol Hill for the capital of Texas and dedicates her free time to exploring Austin’s best food trucks.
