Effective Spend Named to 2021 Best Small Companies to Work for in Austin by BuiltIn.com

Effective Spend has been named one of the 2021 Best Small Companies to Work for in Austin by BuiltIn.com. Effective Spend was first recognized on Built In’s 2020 list, so this marks the 2nd year in a row for the company to receive this honor.

Pulling from a pool of profiles on their site (like Effective Spend’s) Built In determines winners for Best Places to Work based on an algorithm, using company data about compensation, benefits and cultural programs. To reflect the attributes candidates are searching for on Built In today, this year’s program weighted certain criteria more heavily, including remote opportunities and programs for diversity, equity and inclusion. Rank is determined by combining a company’s score in each of these categories.

“We are humbled to be recognized among so many other amazing companies in Austin,” said Natalia Wulfe, co-owner and CMO of Effective Spend. “Over the past couple of years, our recruiting, training and management teams have been working hard to up-level our DEI efforts. We recognize and value the contributions that people of diverse backgrounds, cultures and experiences can have on our ability to provide a better, more comprehensive service to our clients and a richer, happier work environment for our entire team.”

In addition to its DEI initiatives, Effective Spend has transformed its business operations over the last year in response to the COVID pandemic, providing all staff the ability to work from home comfortably and effectively. Since remote working began in March 2020, the Effective Spend crew has found creative ways of staying connected and keeping morale high until the team can be back together again in the office. The company social calendar has included Zoom guitar lessons, yoga classes, game and trivia happy hours, all led by Effective Spend team members. When safe, the team has also been able to come together in small groups for socially distanced in-person meet-ups.

“These companies raise the bar for cultural excellence and the ability to adapt to meet changing needs of employees,” says Sheridan Orr, Chief Marketing Officer, Built In. “The 2021 winners show a commitment not just to creating meaningful cultures but to delivering talent needs as they change in a dynamic landscape. We’re thrilled to extend our congratulations to the winners.”
