Effective Spend is looking for a Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our team. We have seen consistent growth for the past two years, and the Talent Acquisition Specialist will help us take our recruiting program to the next level! They will play a critical role in making our hiring process even more organized, efficient, and successful.

 

The Talent Acquisition Specialist will manage the entire recruiting, onboarding, and employee performance processes, from developing job descriptions to interviewing candidates to onboarding new hires to managing employee performance tracking. 

 

The ideal applicant is insanely organized, professional, and very skilled at project management and communicating with all kinds of people and personalities. Strong email writing skills and attention to detail are critically important. This person thrives in a support role, understanding that the little things make an enormous difference to the larger team and goals. 

 

This is a full-time, salaried position with an opportunity for advancement within our organization. The role is based in our Austin office, which is a hybrid work environment where all employees can work two days per week from home if they prefer.

Recruiting Responsibilities:

  • Work with hiring managers to develop job descriptions
  • Manage job postings on the internal website and external job boards, including LinkedIn, Indeed, BuiltInAustin, etc. 
  • Using LinkedIn, Indeed, SignalHire and other tools to scout and reach out to qualified candidates
  • Screen and score resumes
  • Schedule and facilitate phone screenings, assessments, and in-person interviews
  • Coordinate with hiring managers to provide candidate information, interview logistics, and other information as needed
  • Ensure each candidate has a positive experience by serving as the main point of contact throughout the hiring process
  • Perform reference checks for candidates as needed
  • Schedule job fairs and other on-campus recruiting events and attend with the Recruiting Manager as needed to increase the candidate pool

 

Human Resources Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with our office manager to provide a smooth onboarding experience for new hires
  • Manage medical, dental, vision, 401k, and other benefits programs
  • Serve as admin and manager of our HR tools, including our PTO, 401k, and employee performance tracking tools

 

Required Experience:

  • 1-2 years of talent acquisition / recruiter experience
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, decisive environment 
  • HR or admin assistant experience is a plus
  • Experience working cross-functionally in an office environment
  • Experience using Google Workspace: Gmail, Calendars, Google Sheets, Google Docs

  • Extreme attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-changing environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to build relationships and trust with candidates
  • Excellent project management skills
  • A love of process improvement and efficiency

 

Additional Experience That Would Be Awesome:

  • Experience using applicant tracking systems
  • Knowledge of the marketing and advertising industry
